The separation of produced well streams into separate phases of oil, gas, and water can be achieved by specialized horizontal vessels sized according to the process requirements. As the primary stage for separation, these units may take the form of Free Water Knockouts, which remove the bulk of the free water from the crude oil and/or gas stream; Multi-Phase Separators, which split the produced well fluid into oil, water, and gas phases (and solds); or Heater-Treaters, which further reduce the water content of the oil stream to make pipeline quality oil. There are many standard features and special options available to meet your specific needs. Bridge Heated FWKO’s apply heat directly to the oil layer to avoid wasteful heating of free water.
